乡下姑娘Denise（乔安娜·范德汉姆 joanna vanderham 饰）为了生计来到北部城市为投靠叔叔。叔叔开了一家服装、布料店，一直以来生意都还过得去，可现在街对面建起了全英国第一家百货商店——天堂百货店，绝大多数顾客都被它吸引过去了。叔叔没钱雇佣Denise，她只能去天堂百货工作。很快，就在店里展示出她的才华和机敏，并逐渐喜欢上了老板John（埃那姆·埃利奥特 Emun Elliott 饰）。John正和Katherine（伊莲·卡西迪 Elaine Cassidy 饰）交往，想通过她说服她的银行家爸爸借钱扩张公司。John的好友兼职搭档Dudley为人谨慎，一直尝试劝阻John不要太冒险，但John却一意孤行。 面对一座陌生的大城市，面对工作与爱情，一个乡村女孩如何生存和抉择？而城里的女孩又有什么样的无奈与悲欢？

1 ) 只是发散性地评价一下
一开始是被女主吸引住看下去的
后来是被华丽丽的服装和背景吸引了看下去~
其实本人希望看到女主脱离男主后独立闯荡的结局，成为竞争对手或者朋友什么的不是更好么 倾向于更商业一点 为啥最后还是要在一起呢 而且还是就这么 突然一下的在一起了 女主应该到最后送他一程的。。。（好吧 这只是我的想象）
配角也都好有特色 女主的上司和女主的Uncle Pauline和Sam 断臂老头 如果可以多点戏份什么的就好了 而且至今也还没看到男主的前夫人 到底是长啥样的。。。
oh dear 好吧 就算剧情一般般 但是因为这些可爱的英式服装小器皿什么的 我就好喜欢 那个帽子 那个帽子后面的丝带 那个蓬蓬的长裙啊。。。。 还有束腰显得身材好好呀 可惜要是我在那个年代估计活不下去了。。。

忙里偷闲，看《the ladies' paradise》。像口渴了喝杯水，感受着舒缓和轻松。
米色的长风衣，驼色的毛织披肩，深咖色的小礼帽，浅金色的卷发，Denise渐入，古朴的英伦风浓浓而至。19世纪的英装内敛宁静，优雅在骨子里，哪怕你的靴子上沾着泥土。漂亮的女人不一定优雅，优雅的女人一定简洁，素朴到“天衣无缝”，一点点细微的饰品都是多余的。有点极致，但不失人间烟火。
Denise恬淡，连微笑都隐含着，自信和智略是内在的，眼底有源源不断的生气，一点点往外冒，不知不觉，不急不躁。初到天堂百货，她被控在帘后，连接待顾客的机会都没有。接着又被同行暗算，穿得像咧开的粽子等人笑话。她却说：我不在乎穿着小两号的裙子，像傻子一样的可笑，关键是您穿在身上的效果，和我必须向您解释，值得买下这条裙子的理由……，就这样，不仅打动了katherine，也赢得了天堂人的认同和赞扬。从逆境中站起，denise呈现出她非凡的品质。不受欺压和排斥的影响，没有委屈和埋怨的情绪，从夹缝中找寻阳光，这就是品质吧。用善良真诚理解和爱化解一切矛盾，与生活讲和，这才是优雅的本质吧。

电视剧《the paradise season》，改编自Zola的小说《Au Bonheur des Dames》。BBC一贯的精细制作，演员功底深厚。除了那些上流社会妇女们的服饰庸俗累赘得像超级市场的窗帘布赶制的。
故事很生动，结局宛如童话。让人不敢相信这是左拉的作品。不过，《妇女乐园》的确是以两人的团圆结尾的。不真实，但美好。批判现实主义大师一样渴望灰姑娘式的完美。
读中文的时候涉猎Zola，二十年后再来读，才明白denise这样的女人值得尊敬。
相比于电视剧，小说《妇女乐园》一样生动、隽永而引人入胜。更复杂的背景、更真实的描述、更酣畅的阅读，左拉的著作中很耐读的一部。
很多时候，我们的成长环境比denise优越，无论家境还是容貌。多年后，当丑小鸭变成白天鹅，而高傲的公主已垂下了脸。丑小鸭的成长比别人有更多的艰辛和不易，因此也锻炼出坚强乐观的性格，更可贵的是她真实而诚实地对待自己，从不违背亲情和爱的原则，站在人的最基本的互相尊重的立场上决定人生的每一次转折。这样的女子可能很多阶段会暂时落后，但若赢，一定完胜。
自然主义和批判现实主义大师的大团圆结局绝不会信手拈来，五百年才出一个的左拉，他笔中的女子也可以典范数百年。
年轻的时候不要读错了书，有些书贻误了很多好时光，有些经典形象却可以帮助你成长，或者珍藏在心里，某个人生阶段她能给你最大的力量。读懂denise，任何时间都不算晚。

3 ) 快把maud脖子上的绳子拿下来！
女二是fingersmith里面的Miss Maud啊！当年多清新脱俗，时间真是把杀猪刀，一开始都没敢认，看着看着确定了，不过还是挺美丽的，演个女二绰绰有余。
maud肯定是得罪服装师了，为什么几乎每套衣服都不好看，还都在脖子上配个奇奇怪怪的丝带。丝带是有和服装颜色或者蕾丝呼应，但是好难看啊，脖子都分成两截了。为了看到maud的完整的脖子一口气看了五集，然后终于露出脖子了，脖子很美好嘛，没疤没皱纹，前面还一直以为演员脖子毁容了。
女二不是大小姐吗，为什么衣服都有廉价中国风的感觉，很多都是纯白配蕾丝，演员是白但是她穿纯白不好看啊，还有很多的方领子，方领子很毁人的好嘛。
服装师你就好好给人家准备几件收腰露肩膀的礼服就好啦，其他女配不都穿的挺好看的，弄那些艳俗的颜色和小花朵出来做啥，你向女演员求爱被拒绝了吗？还是她抢了你男朋友？
吐槽结束，下面来说下剧情。
看到是《妇女乐园》改编的马上跑去看了，妇女乐园是和傲慢与偏见都是看过很多次的名著（当言情小说看），一直想为什么没拍成电影。
故事其实也就借了个框架，很多关系都改了，denise在原著中是瘦弱的乡下小姑娘，除了一头金发没什么吸引人的地方。要照顾年幼的弟弟，生活非常拮据，叔叔也对她没这么好。也没有这么伶牙俐齿，最可取的是默默坚持。 最重要的是是穆雷先生先喜欢denise的，也没有和其他女人订婚（这改的太毁三观了），左拉到结局都没有写到过kiss啊，人家是纯爱。
然后原著中最经典的桥段（自认为的）为什么不拍啊，女二为了羞辱denise让她到自己家帮她修改衣服，故意让穆雷看到她卑躬屈膝，穆雷受不了先让denise离开，这个完全可以拍出来的吗。原著很好看的，推荐去看原著啊。
当然BBC还是拍的很精致的，新增加的桥段也有很多亮点。当做一个新故事来看吧，不要多和原著比较，除了大方向很多地方都不一样了。不过新出来的sam好讨人喜欢啊（星星眼）。
另外，carla（是这么拼吗，那个女售货员）是fingersmith里的sue吗？总觉得好眼熟。

4 ) 人生的2个遗憾
人生2个遗憾，心中的经典没有被再此演绎，心中的经典被演绎糟蹋了。
作为左拉《妇女乐园》爱好者，看到BBC翻拍的新闻无比激动哦，看完第一集，可以说有点遗憾，虽然BBC出品保证精品，但是，和原著的法式风格比较起来，英式内敛感觉不是有个味道。
第一集看完了，
(1）先说选角方面，女一号长相还比较符合小说，就是个子太高了，居然比男二号还要高，剧中的人物应该是个小巧的、灵活的的印象
男一号，moray同学，有商业人物的精明，但是没有原剧中那种有些纨绔，又有些强势的感觉，可能也是身高不够高？
女二号是在原剧基础上再创造的，看5月份的新闻，还有网友担心女二号名气比女一号大，盖过女一的风头，现在完全不用担心了，因为造型师没有站在女二这边。剧中作为银行家的千金，未出嫁的女儿，应当也是花样妙龄才对啊，可是这个造型，像是守寡多年的，看上去比男一年龄还大。小说是有个公爵夫人，是Moray的情人，可既然编剧改成银行千金了，造型师同学难道没看剧本
男二号，更应该是个纨绔的感觉才对，这里感觉就是自信不足、有点阴沉的感觉
（2）故事地点换成了英国，不是巴黎了，货币也换成英镑了
剧本改编还是要赞的，虽然只有第一集，但是戏剧冲突的线路已经很明晰了。
小说中，Denise是矛盾的集合体，她一方面热爱这个席卷旧商业模式的零售潮流，另一方面又同情那些旧商业模式下的小店主，在其他人反抗Moray的扩张计划时，她意识到这个是发展趋势，所以她会爱上Moray
在第一集中，这一点表现的更直接，poline（配角女）说她 fallen in love with moray,她回答说 I want to be him.
（3）Denise的2个弟弟没了，大概是为了剧情紧凑吧，可是照顾这2个弟弟是展现Denise的女性美的重要一面，小说中，Denise要辞职走了，Moray决定放弃了，大甩卖中，moray看到denise在帮助2个弟弟买东西，围着他们转来转去，被再次打动，决定求婚了。没了2个弟弟，编剧要怎么编呢？
（4）法国改成英国，也是人物形象发生变化的原因，英国人含蓄内敛，法国人要外放一些，所以Moray的情人啊，纨绔啊，估计都没有了，虽然也可以把故事编圆，可还是很期待法国原版的啊，法国人同学，自己家经典被翻拍，心理作何感想啊？

5 ) 被埋没的精致英剧
The paradise 中文译名：彼岸是天堂/女人天堂，然后我在豆瓣上又发现这个“天堂一刻”这个翻译。2012年，BBC ONE开播第一季，2013年开播了第二季。但是BBC已经证实不会有第三季了，因为得腾出位置给新的电视剧。个人还觉得蛮可惜的
故事背景是在1875年的英国，剧情围绕这个The Paradise的英国第一家百货超市展开。John Moray是The paradise的经理人，充满野心和抱负，但是也有柔情的一面，他与可以给他提供经济帮助的银行家的女儿Katherine订婚；Denise Lovett是从苏格兰农村来的女孩，希望能够帮助叔叔维持生计，但是她发现the paradise势不可挡发展，于是去the paradise工作。
John Moray和Denise Lovett一见面便擦出火花。Denise Lovett是渴望经济独立的女人，在19世纪由男性主导的社会，她的精神和抱负很难能可贵。她为The paradise提供了许多新的点子以招揽顾客，而John Moray也被她深深地吸引。俩人之间的情感日渐加深，可是种种挑战和困难也横隔在他们中间。
The paradise单从剧情还是服装造型，我觉得都不输Downton Abbey。可是Downton Abbey已经出至第五季了，但The paradise两季之后就没有了，也有其原因的。
一是演员阵容，很明显The paradise差了一大截，看看海报就知道。这导致在剧情上，The paradise长期会单薄一些，不像Downton Abbey可以给观众回味和吐槽的地方。
二是主题，The paradise最初给我的感觉是Denise Lovett如何在男性世界中占据一席的主题，可是拍着拍着，这个主题感觉若即若离，有那么点像，又有那么点不像，导致我很难判定它。这到底是不爱情剧，还是女性励志剧？模糊的概念也会导致观众的迷茫。长寿命的电视剧，比如：Game of Thrones，我可以说：妖魔鬼怪打打杀杀争王位；Friends,，我可以说：三男三女喜怒哀乐，携手共成长；Gossip girl我可以说：帅男靓女，XXOO，华服美景，纸醉金迷......
三是，宣传上也有关系啦
但是这部剧我还是很喜欢的，可是它在我心里挖了个坑，却没填满，不开心.....

Series 1 begins in 1875, and portrays the lives and loves of the people who work, shop and trade, in and around the first English department store.[8] The owner of The Paradise department store is widower John Moray. Katherine asks Moray, who has been exiled to Paris, to return to revive the fortunes of The Paradise, and save it from being sold. Weston is determined to control his wife and The Paradise, overruling Moray to his own advantage. Moray's position at the Bon Marche is a reference to Octave Mouret's derision and constant competition with the same.

Taken ill, Mrs Brookmire is helped by Sam. She invites him to the Glendennings' home, where she breaks down to reveal she has left her husband. She kisses Sam just as Lord Glendenning and Katherine walk in; he is accused of ungentlemanly behaviour and Moray is asked to dismiss him. The reputation of The Paradise is at stake; Moray wants to discover the truth, and Denise decides to help.

The discovery of a baby by Denise in ladieswear causes ripples through the store. Clara resents Denise's popularity, Miss Audrey fears her ambitions, and Arthur questions his own foundling status. Denise upsets Moray with her idea for a children's department using Katherine as a go-between. Clara is also upset when the foundlings are brought to the store and her affinity with one of the children causes trouble.

一是演员阵容，很明显The paradise差了一大截，看看海报就知道。这导致在剧情上，The paradise长期会单薄一些，不像Downton Abbey可以给观众回味和吐槽的地方。

6 ) 一流小说，三流改编
这不是我印象中的《妇女乐园》
变成了一个纯玛丽苏的无脑爱情剧。
其实左拉小说里，更注重的是描写时代变迁下商业的转型，原本女主的叔叔包括女主在乡下的工作都是个体经营，小打小闹。而妇女乐园这种商店模式可谓是时代的新型产物，对个体户冲击非常巨大。就像巨鲨吞噬小鱼。
看小说，仿佛能一起看到妇女乐园里琳琅满目的绸缎扇子香水。。。有种感同身受的纸碎金迷。
而本剧中完全没有体现，毫无冲击力。
男女主也美化了不少，本来书里男主是个不择手段靠女人发迹起来的乡下小子，剧里硬是变成了人人爱的霸道总裁，反而变得更无趣了。
很失望，毁了我心目中一篇好小说，真的推荐大家看左拉的原文吧。
BBC终于看着ITV眼红了，这部迷你古装剧简直就是在拷贝《唐顿庄园》，一个天堂百货上上下下社会名流小店员，勾心斗角一网打尽。这剧的缺点是角色的命运太容易预测，勾心斗角的火药味不够呛人，倒是爽心悦目的华丽包装和各色主角很适合打发时间，《三人行》的两位好基友竟然都在这里。★★★☆

左拉的原著是非常出色的经济学著作，而不是爱情小说。Matthew McNulty似乎更适合演Moray吧。Elaine Cassidy被毁成什么样子了，又老又专横，不过中间有几集很有爱也很深情算是有点小可爱。Denise的差劲弟弟直接没有了，然后叔叔居然跟Miss Audrey有一腿这个改编好奇特。

比想象中好看，虽然“麻雀变凤凰”还是老梗。女主角属于耐看型，多看几眼就觉得还不错了。（话说每次看英剧，都会觉得，你看看人家拍的古装戏，要画面有画面，要剧情有剧情，要对白有对白，咱们的怎么就各种吐槽无力咧。。唉。。）
看着看着觉得混乱又无趣。还是看看妇女乐园那本书好了，不必再继续追剧了~~~~7集弃
